ROUTE DETAILS
Loop trail, 390 meters ascent, 390 meters descent, 5.7 km, suitable only for hiking. Trekking poles and ankle-support hiking shoes are recommended.
To tackle the trail at its best, the following are required:
The starting point is in Bocco (1070 m), which is 4.1 km away from the hotel and can be reached by car or by foot following the SP 89 until Brallo, then the SP 88 until Bocco. The trail 101 starts on the left just after the village. The first section, also known as the “Hannibal’s Trail,” winds through beautiful beech forests until reaching the abandoned ski facilities at the top of Colletta (2 km, 1480 m), from where you can enjoy the suggestive panoramas of the Staffora valley and the Trebbia valley.
From there, you start descending on the trail 101, and after about 1 km, it’s necessary to take a left turn at a junction that is not well signposted (CAI 109) and is slightly exposed. You then follow the last stretch of the trail that leads back to Bocco.
